One of Mexico’s leading narrow web converters of labels, pouches, and shrink sleeves, Promographic & Design, has fitted Vetaphone corona technology to its Nilpeter flexo and HP Indigo digital presses to assure consistently high-quality surface treatment.
The company was founded in 2005 by Ricardo Villar and Federico Padilla in response to a growing demand for consistent high-quality labels, initially from Natura Laboratories (now Henkel Mexico), but subsequently from both national and international brand owners in the health and beauty sectors. In more recent times, the company has become a valued supplier to the food and beverage, pharmaceutical, automotive and electronics markets, where its reputation for innovative packaging solutions has become well recognized.
Ricardo Villar says, “Promographic & Design specializes in the production of high-quality Shrink Sleeves, Self-Adhesive Labels, and Pouches. Our core commitment is to excellence in both printing and service, which is why we continuously invest in cutting-edge equipment, premium materials, and highly skilled personnel.”
Today, the company’s workforce of 75 produces sales of around $7 million from its 14,000 square foot production facility in Guadalajara, with products distributed to 52 countries across five continents. “The majority of revenue, approximately 60%, comes from the production of heat shrink sleeves, with the remainder derived from self-adhesive labels and pouch solutions, which continue to see strong demand across multiple industries,” according to Fabiola Renteria, who leads the Commercial Department.
All of which requires the utilization of quality technology in a clean and efficient production environment, backed up by quality support and service. Daniel Renteria, who heads-up production at the plant comments, “Our plant is designed with controlled climate conditions to ensure consistent color reproduction and optimal production quality. Additionally, our white epoxy flooring not only enhances the aesthetics of our facility but also plays a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene. We also have a skilled maintenance team that ensures all our equipment functions at peak performance.”
Promographic & Design’s relationship with Vetaphone began around 20 years ago with the installation of a Nilpeter FB 3300 narrow web flexo press. Daniel Renteria recalls, “As a company that prioritizes cutting-edge technology, we sought the best solutions available in the market. Our research and discussions with industry experts led us to Vetaphone, a company renowned for its superior quality and innovation in surface treatment technology.”
The Vetaphone corona technology chosen was two 410mm wide VE1A-A units with four ceramic electrodes in each, and both have proven reliable and consistent performers allowing Promographic & Design to deliver superior quality products to its customers.
Renteria adds, “Vetaphone has a proven track record as an industry leader. Its equipment is synonymous with efficiency and cutting-edge innovation and given our commitment to working only with world-leading technology and equipment, we made the strategic decision from the outset to partner exclusively with Vetaphone for our surface treatment needs. Vetaphone technology has consistently exceeded our expectations, delivering outstanding performance and reliability. The precision and efficiency of their equipment have been instrumental in maintaining the high-quality standards that our clients expect from us.”
Speaking for Vetaphone, sales manager for the Americas Marcus Knapp comments, “This commitment to excellence aligns well with Vetaphone’s own core values and long-term objectives. There is a natural synergy between the two companies that will ensure continued success as the partnership expands with the close cooperation of our local agent, Mario Flores of Flexuministros.”
Looking ahead, Ricardo Villar discusses the company’s plans, stating, “We are focused on expansion and technological advancement. In the short term, we are investing in two additional printing presses: a third HP Indigo press and a third Nilpeter press, which will significantly enhance our production capacity. Additionally, we are about to install new finishing equipment for prime labels, which will allow us to offer a full range of embellishment finishes, and we are also evaluating Karville equipment for heat shrink sleeve production.”
The next phase will see the construction of a new industrial plant that is crucial to its continued growth by increasing production capabilities and providing the capability to serve customers with more innovative and high-quality solutions. By working with leading brands, it has already established itself as a trusted partner capable of reliably delivering products that meet the stringent requirements of each market that it serves.
Villar concludes, “Promographic & Design was born out of necessity and has committed itself to delivering superior printing solutions with exceptional quality and service. Our vision is to remain at the forefront of the labeling and packaging industry, and investments, such as those made with Vetaphone, are key steps toward achieving that goal.”
